DAVIS, Mattie Ferrand

After being in failing health for the last year, death came to Mrs. Mattie O. Davis, mother of the Rev. Earl C. Davis, pastor of the Union Christian Church, Wednesday morning at 3 o’clock in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital. Her condition became critical only during the last few hours prior to her death. She was admitted to the hospital a half day before she died. Mrs. Davis had also been a patient in the hospital at Greencastle. The body has been taken to the Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home to the Sands Funeral Home in Greencastle where services are to be conducted at 10 o’clock Saturday morning. She will be buried in the Brick Chapel (sic) at Greencastle. Mrs. Davis was born in Putnam County June 12, 1897 and her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ferrand. She was graduated from Bainbridge HS with the class of 1916. On Feb 8, 1917 she became the bride of Mose E. Davis and two children were born to them. Mrs. Davis had resided in Greencastle, Boyd, Mont, Putnam County (sic) and her last place of residence was Bainbridge. The survivors are the son, two brothers and two sisters of Putnam County – kbz
